Schools
What parents look for before choosing a school.
Admission decisions no longer begin at your gate. They begin on a phone, in the evening, with a parent typing your school's name into Google and forming an opinion in roughly ninety seconds.
Here is what they are looking for in that minute and a half — and the things that quietly lose you the family.
The first ninety seconds
A parent is not reading your mission statement. They are checking four things, in this order.
1. Is this school real and established?
Founding year, board affiliation, student numbers, teacher numbers. Concrete facts, near the top, that can be checked. A school running since 1978 should say 1978 in the first screen — decades of continuity is the most persuasive thing you own, and it costs one line to state.
2. Are admissions even open?
Astonishingly often, this is impossible to determine. Name the session explicitly — "Admissions open for 2026–27, Pre-Nursery to Class 12". If they are closed, say that too. A parent who cannot tell simply moves on to the next school.
3. Is my child going to be safe?
Every parent has this thought and almost none will ring up and ask. Answer it before they have to: transport arrangements, campus security, medical facilities, staff verification. Photographs of the actual campus do more here than any paragraph.
4. What is it going to cost me?
Schools resist publishing fees, worried about comparison. But parents will find out anyway — from other parents, on WhatsApp groups, with far less context than you would give them. Publishing a clear structure, or at least a range, buys enormous trust. Being cagey reads as expensive and evasive.
The full checklist
Admissions
- Current session stated plainly
- Classes with open seats
- The process, step by step
- Documents needed
- An enquiry form that reaches a human quickly
Academics
- Board affiliation and affiliation number
- Streams offered at senior secondary
- What each stage covers, in normal language
- Teaching approach — briefly, without the buzzwords
Facilities — with photographs of yours
- Classrooms, labs, library, sports, transport
- Real photographs of your campus. Stock images of some foreign school are worse than no images at all — parents recognise them instantly and it costs you every bit of credibility you just built.
Results and achievers
Board results, toppers with names and marks, competitive exam selections, sports achievements. This is one of the most-visited sections on any school website, and one of the most persuasive. Update it every single year.
Faculty
Qualifications and experience of your senior teachers. Parents want to know their child will be taught by people who know the subject.
Notices and circulars
Holiday lists, exam schedules, event announcements. This is the section that brings existing parents back weekly — and a site people return to keeps working for you all year, not just in admission season.
Five things that lose you a family
- A site that will not load on mobile. Almost every parent is on a phone. If they have to pinch and zoom, they leave.
- Stock photography. Everyone can tell. It signals that you either have nothing to show or think parents will not notice.
- Last year's admission notice still on the homepage. Reads as "nobody here is paying attention".
- No phone number in reach. Every screen should have a tappable call button.
- Nothing at all. A school with no website loses the comparison to a newer school with half the track record and a decent site.
What good looks like
Shri Krishna Sr. Sec. School in Mahendragarh has been teaching since 1978 — 1,500 students, 80 teachers, 4.4 stars from parents on Google. The site leads with those four numbers, names the current admission session in the hero, and puts the enquiry one tap away on WhatsApp.
None of that is clever. It is simply answering, in order, the questions a parent was going to ask anyway.
When to build it
At least two months before admission season opens. Google needs time to index a new site, and you want photographs taken while the campus is full rather than during holidays.
A full school site — academics, facilities, achievers, notices, gallery — is our Premium package at ₹55,000. Smaller coaching centres usually fit the ₹12,000 Starter. Either way we build it and show it to you live before anything is paid.
See your school's website before you pay for it
We'll build a real, working demo and send you the link within 24 hours. Show it to your management, then decide.
